Classroom Visits

Programming for the Journey through the Universe currently centers arorund Journey Week when visiting researchers visit as many classrooms as possible. Each day during Journey Week, a team consisting of one visiting researcher, a local scientist, and a local ambassador will visit one to two schools a day and give multiple presentations at each school. Teams will be different on each day.

This year, the visiting researcher will be giving the main presentation, while the local Journey Scientist will be giving a preview of possible future classroom visits.

Please be prepared to give a presentation of up to 5 minutes to share who you are, what you do, and a preview of what you may share with the classroom if you were invited back.

The exact time allocation should be discussed between the visiting researcher and the local Journey Scientist.

Here are some guidelines for the presentations:
- Presentations can be on any topic of your choosing
- Presentations should target appropriate age groups
- If you prefer to work with a particular age group let the Journey Team know. We will try to schedule you to visit that age group.
