The Journey Team will sponsor an orientation for Journey Scientits on Sunday, January 22, 2006, from 9AM to 12 PM. This is an opportunity for the local Journey Scientists to meet each other and discuss strategies for effective communication.

Here are some tentative plans for the content of the orientation:

• Introductions among Journey Scientists
• An orientation to the Journey to the Universe Program
• A brief introduction to local classroom environment (either: current research on science education,the culture and learning styles of Hawaii students, what the students are learning as stipulated by the Hawaii Science Standards)
• A "presentation clinic" where Journey Scientists help each other improve their presentation skills
